Description of Services:

The Charles County Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee (SECAC) is a parent-led advisory group that collaborates with Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) to support, advocate for, and improve special education services for students with disabilities. SECAC provides information, community education, family engagement opportunities, and a forum for parents and stakeholders to share input on policies, programs, and services impacting students receiving special education support.

Services Provided:

  • Parent education workshops and trainings
  • Information and resources on IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education processes
  • Community forums and stakeholder meetings
  • Advocacy support and guidance
  • Collaboration with CCPS leadership to improve special education services
  • Networking opportunities for families of students with disabilities
